08 Jul 2012 SCRAP Workshop: Garden Mosaics w/ Jane Schafgans
Join us again as Jane delights and dazzles with her wonderful mosaic techniques! This time she will show participants how to mosaic objects such as birdbaths, stepping-stones, and flower pots. Mosaics in the garden add color and visual interest enhancing any outdoor space and delighting the eye. Participants will be able to use materials from SCRAP as well as bring their own urns, shallow Terra cotta containers, or other garden objects to work on. It should be small enough to complete within a week, as there will be one class for tile application, and one day for grouting, with a week in between.
Jane Schafgans, native San Franciscan, has been working with mosaics for many years. Besides teaching adults, she has also worked as an artist in residence, partnering with fellow artist Kim Payne, in several public and private schools in S.F, facilitating mosaic murals designed and created by students. She has also volunteered on several public works mosaic installations around the city.
