SCRAP Workshop – Just Added! Recycled Glass & Collage w/ Reddy Lieb

January 29th, 2011
10:00am – 4:00pm (An all-day workshop!)        fee: $45

Join us again for this full-day workshop as glass artist Reddy Lieb shows participants how to create decorative and expressive glass panels, jewelry, or small sculptures using recycled glass, collage, and stained glass techniques.

Participants will scrounge through the treasures of scrap to find decorative papers, metal, images, glass pieces, etc that they will use in making mixed media collage works. The collaged works will then be sandwiched between glass and framed in copper foil.  Reddy will instruct students in basic glass cutting and preparation techniques as well as instruct them on how to solder their final piece.

I really enjoyed Reddy Lieb’s workshop yesterday. It was nice to have it both morning and afternoon. She’s a such great teacher and I always learn from the other workshop members too. The coffee and pastry was a fun surprise – thanks.

I forgot to say on my evaluation that I would love to see a class in pique assiete (did I spell it right – working with broken dishes, etc).

And also painterly painting with tempera paint. Oil and acrylic can get expensive. I have seen wonderful paintings that residents of the Jewish Home on Silver Aveune have done with the art instructor there. I guess it’s not “found,” but it is an economcal way to paint.

Thanks again for all you do.

I also loved Reddy Lieb’s workshop. She’s a wonderful teacher and created a space for creativity where we all got to explore our own vision for how to use the tools, the media, the SCRAPs. I loved seeing what each participant created. The day flew by.

I would love to take a class by Reddy on making jewelry from little glass collages. I’m seeing pendant necklaces with little collages between the glass.

thank you for a great experience in a creative dreamland.
