Knitting for Total Beginners w/ Susanne Raynard

March 19th, 1-4pm  fee: $25

Have you always wanted to learn how to knit? Seen all that yarn that came into SCRAP? Why not learn how to put it to use!  Susanne Raynard will teach the basics of knitting for those who have never done it before and those who need a refresher.  She will cover needle sizes and types, yarn weights, casting on, the basic knit stitch, the basic purl stitch, and casting off.  Participants will make the first of a pair of fingerless mitts, then start the second and have gained the know-how to finish at home. There will be time to practice, ask questions, and go over some common errors beginning knitters typically make.

Yarn and knitting needles will be provided. Needles are available for purchase for those who get hooked! Please feel free to bring your own supplies if you like.
