SCRAP presents ~
WE SCRAP! Workshops for Educators : Creative Reuse Projects for the Classroom
As funding for art education and public education in general continues to be cut from government budgets we want to renew our mission to get supplies into the hands of teachers who need them and reinforce the importance of creativity in the lives and education of children. Running in conjunction with our Monthly Teacher Material GiveAways for San Francisco teachers on first Saturdays of the month, SCRAP offers a program for teachers called WE SCRAP! Workshops for Educators.
Six first Saturdays in the school year (Oct, Nov, Dec and Feb, Mar, Apr) SCRAP presents WE SCRAP! workshops, creative reuse projects that can be taught in the classroom, use SCRAP materials, and directly tie into curriculum. These workshops are taught by creative arts professionals and educators themselves. In the workshops participants have the opportunity to create and obtain a materials package to teach the project in their own classroom complete with an instruction sheet that includes a list of California Content Standards the project fulfills. These workshops also count towards professional development hours for teachers.
The 2 to 3 hour workshops are just $15.
