SCRAP NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT!
SCRAP goes beyond our Depot in the Bayview— facilitating/sparking creativity through partnerships with non-profits, libraries, schools, and cultural institutions across the Bay Area.
Last year we produced over 75 free or low-cost workshops, activations, and events that inspired creative reuse and promoted sustainability. Write to danielle@scrap-sf.org to inquire.
At these drop-in workshops designed and led by educators from SCRAP, ordinary materials transform into extraordinary make-and-take art projects. The workshops make use of supplies from SCRAP and are inspired by SFMOMA exhibitions.
Aug 23: Abstract Shapes Ellsworth Kelly’s artwork is inspired by everyday things he saw in his life. With the help of SCRAP, collage your own abstract artwork using construction paper shapes. Get inspired by something you see, like a face, a plant, or a piece of furniture!
Sep 13: Matisse Landscapes Henri Matisse is known for his “scandalous” use of color, particularly when painting landscapes. Create your own landscape painting using colors you wouldn’t necessarily find in nature!

Mend your well-loved items and learn tips on clothing repair with SCRAP repair coaches. Participants are welcome to bring one clothing item for repair, and all necessary materials will be provided.
Bring an item in need of repair and you will be paired with a skilled SCRAP repair coach, who will mend it while you can learn about the repair process. Whether it’s a torn seam or a missing button, we’re here to help you extend the life of your garments and reduce textile waste.
Please Note:
Limit one clothing item per person.
Repairs only—no alterations or complex fixes.
